-"I have Medicare and a supplemental insurance, why did I get a statement?"
Medical Billing Z sends out statements every 30 days to keep patients informed as to the status of their account.  If you have Medicare and a supplemental insurance plan you don't need to pay.  Medicare takes approximately 14 days to pay on a medical claim, and supplemental insurances typically take 30 days to pay on the remaining balance after Medicare has paid.  If you have a balance that is older than 60 days from your date of service, please Contact Medical Billing Z so we can find out why your insurance is taking so long to pay.

-"But I have commercial insurance and a secondary, why did I get a statement?"

Commercial insurance typically take 30 days to pay on a claim.  With double coverage claims will take typically about 60 days to be paid in full.  If a balance is 90 days or older please Contact Medical Billing Z so we can find out why your insurance it taking so long to pay.

-"My balance hasn't been paid on in a while, will this affect my credit rating?"

Medical Billing Z is not affiliated with any credit rating organization.  If a patient is responsible for a balance 120 days or older we will recommend to the patient's physician that the patient's account be sent to a collection agency, which will affect the patient's credit rating.  However if a balance 120 days or older is responsible due to delinquency of an insurance company Medical Billing Z will not recommend the account be sent to a collection agency.  In many cases insurance companies are required by law to pay on a claim within 30 days of receiving it.  If an insurance company fails to meet this requirement they are subject to interest penalties.  Patient's don't need to worry as these penalties will not affect their premium and are the sole responsibility of the insurance company and won't appear on your account statement.

-"My account has a large balance, but I cannot pay it all at once, what can I do?"

Please Contact Medical Billing Z, we can set up an affordable payment schedule that fits with in  your patient's means.
